Research in Imago Relationship Therapy

The national office of Imago Relationship Therapy is committed to ongoing research on the effectiveness of both Imago Relationship Therapy in a therapist's office and on the Getting the Love You Want workshops.

There is a major ongoing research study with University of Pennsylvania, but new enrollment is currently on hold (as of July 2020) due to the pandemic. It will resume when it is safe to do so.

Numerous smaller studies have been published in peer-reviewed journals both in the United States and in other countries.

Imago North America has published a list of those studies, books or chapters in books, and articles on the theory and practice of Imago Relationship Therapy. As they state, this is not a complete list because studies continue to be published.

You can read a summary by Theresa A. Beeton-Clark, Ph.D on some of the previous research in Imago Relationship Therapy.

Here are some of the other research articles in or submitted to journals, a section on dissertations and thesis on Imago Relationship Therapy, and a section on book chapters and books.
